So I have been dating my boyfriend for a few months now but my family doesn't know that he's white. My parents are really against interracial relationships. HELP!

Your parents love you. At the end of the day, no matter who you choose as your partner it should not change their love for you. Sometimes people are afraid of what they don't know. Sooner or later you will have to confront your own fears and have a heart to heart talk with them.

today's age of understanding and receptive of the interracial dating/marriage is more fluent and flexible than ever before. Hmong parents are very very protective of their sons and daughters, sometimes way overly protective that makes the situation very uncomfortable. If you read Mai Neng Moua's book "the bride price", you'll understand that the price of a bride isn't what is all at the table, but merely a way to secure their daughters well being then and forever. Not all relations can be saved nor salvage because we no longer lived in the 18th century and Hmong parents have a hard time understanding that. To your point, there is right or wrong, improper or proper way to make your parents understand that, only time will make them listen. Remember the theory of "nyias kauv nyias pam, me nyuam txhiaj pham", this is has been implanted in the Hmong genetics since the beginning of time, same with other communities. One thing thought, make sure your boyfriend have the GREATEST RESPECT for your parents and over time, they will learned to accept him, regardless he's white, hmong, black, blue, greens or our Texican friends.
