The Rebirth of Destiny Band’s New Sound

One of the most exciting things happening this July 4th is the return of Destiny Band with a new album and concert tour.  The new album is called “Hli Xiab” and with it a revival of new destiny sounds.  The album will be released on July 1st, 2011 at Destiny Café and July 2nd - 3rd at the Annual Hmong Soccer Tournament in St. Paul, MN.

Destiny Band has a long history in the Hmong musical community.  They’re a pop/rock band that started out in the late 1990’s.  It has been 6 years since the last Destiny Album so fans are eagerly anticipating a comeback.  Not only is there a new album, Destiny Band has announced a new addition to the band with a 6th member named P. Chang who plays bass.   His addition to the band will really help add a new vibe and sound to the Destiny name.

Destiny Band is known for their soulful ballads and catchy tunes and the same can be said of this new album but with a newer, evolved sound.   This new album was produced with a variety of fans in mind and was made to collaborate a variety of musical tunes to fit everyone.  The new tracks are a blend of  catchy melodies, great lyrics, awesome guitar and piano licks, and beats that are good for partying.  For demos you can visit: youtube.com/charmingrecords.  The album includes 10 new Songs, 1 remix of Tus Kuv Nco and 1 Hli Xiab Instrumental.  Destiny Band’s musical style has not changed much, but the overall quality including music and production has improved with this new upcoming album.

Not only is the album something to look forward to but they are also putting on a concert tour as well.  Because of their love of music and the thousands of fans that continue to supporting them, they decided to produce this album with 4 concert tours in 2011:

July 3rd, 2011 Saint Paul, MN

September 3rd, 2011 Appleton, WI

November 26th, Hickory, NC

December 27th, 2011 Fresno, CA

The first live concert will in their hometown of St. Paul MN on Sunday,  July 3rd at the Myth Night Club.  It will be one of the biggest events during the tournament weekend and is a collaboration of top Hmong artists from around the states.

According to lead vocalist Kace Vang, this album was the first album that they really challenged themselves and pushed themselves to produce a product that would WOW their fans.  They really hope everyone gets a chance to come out, meet the band and new member and continue to support Hmong music and local talents.  Remember to look out the Destiny booth this July 4th and check out the concert fliers for more information.
